Oleksandr Kaliuzhnyi, physical therapist
I run Rehab Place, a physical therapy office in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine. In practice since 2012, I work with every patient one-on-one: recovery after injuries, surgeries and stroke, back and joint pain, rehabilitation of wounded soldiers and veterans.
A few words about myself
My name is Oleksandr, I am a physical therapist, in the profession since 2012. I work with patients after injuries, surgeries and stroke, with back and joint pain, and I rehabilitate wounded soldiers and veterans.
Years of practice have convinced me there is no such thing as a typical case. The same diagnosis behaves differently in two different people, so I do not work from ready-made exercise sets — first I look at what is actually happening with the body, and only then decide what to do about it.
How I work
Every program is built on examination results: I check strength, range of motion, balance and painful areas, record your baseline — and from there choose exercises that match your goal. Sessions are one-on-one: I am with you the whole time, watching technique and dosing the load.
As your condition changes, the program changes too. What felt too hard at the start eventually becomes a warm-up, so I revise the plan regularly. After a stroke I also teach family members: I show them how to help safely at home, so recovery does not stop between visits.

Diplomas and certificates are available on request at the office. Come to a consultation — I will show you the documents and answer questions about my education and the approaches I work with.
What I can help you with
- Physical therapy (exercise) — individual programs to rebuild strength, mobility and endurance.
- Stroke rehabilitation — movement, balance, self-care; teaching family members.
- Recovery after injuries and surgeries — fractures, joint replacement, ligament tears.
- Rehabilitation of the wounded and veterans — the effects of combat injuries, special terms for those who serve.
- Back, neck and joint pain — finding the cause of pain, not just easing the symptom.
- Scoliosis and posture in children — posture assessment and corrective exercises.
- Massage and manual therapy — as part of the recovery program.
- Kinesio taping — support for a joint or muscle between sessions.
